Role Description:

This is a full-time, on-site role for a General Superintendent located in Cypress, TX. The General Superintendent is responsible for the planning, supervision, and execution of road, bridge, and drainage maintenance and construction activities. This position oversees field crews, equipment, materials, safety compliance, and project scheduling to ensure all work is completed efficiently, safely, and in alignment with organizational standards and regulatory requirements.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily operations for roadway, bridge, and drainage projects. May oversee multiple projects.
  • Manage and direct field crews, equipment operators, and subcontractors.
  • Inspect ongoing and completed work to ensure quality control, safety, and compliance with project specifications.
  • Schedule personnel, equipment, and materials to meet project timelines.
  • Assist with budget planning, cost control, and resource allocation.
  • Maintain accurate records, work orders, reports, and inventory tracking.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, including OSHA standards and internal policies.
  • Communicate with company management, sucontractors, clients, and local agencies regarding project updates and issues.
  • Train and mentor staff in proper procedures, equipment usage, and safety protocols.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 5–10 years of experience in road, bridge, or heavy civil construction, including supervisory responsibility.
  • Experience with county, municipal, and DOT projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction management processes and construction means & methods.
  • Ability to management multiple operations simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with basic computer software (email, spreadsheets, word documents).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver's license; CDL preferred.
  • OSHA 30 (preferred).
